Theological Foundations CCP 210
Week 10: November 8, 2007

Dear CCP 210 students:

Greetings in grace! I unfortunately have come under the weather (along with my kiddos). I hate to miss any one night with you--especially with just two remaining. Each night for me at the University is a highlight of my week. That being said, I must listen to sweet sister prudence and adhere to my conscience. I am no good to you sick.

I spoke with Deacon Ray this afternoon and we decided that it would work out best for you to email me your papers or drop them off at the University (the University will put them in my box). I will be sure to get them early next week to have them graded and ready for you by next Thursday. I would like for you to read them over for your presentations. Most notably, those presenting when we return from thanksgiving.

Concerning next week, I would like you to read pages 128-168 from Pope Benedict's Jesus of Nazareth . Pay close attention to pages 150-157, the petition: Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread. I will break this open next week in the context of Our Lord's Prayer in greater detail. Some of you may want to go back and read the forward to the book to rekindle core theological principles to interpreting Scripture.

Homework Assignment: Choosing one petition from the Lord's Prayer, respond to the following question. In what ways do you see your selected petition differently than before reading Benedict XVI? What insights have you gained?
